Game Summary: After surrendering a run in the first to Shell Lake, the Beavers came to the plate in the home half of the first and let everybody know that the home opener was going to be a route. Nolan Scheps, starting his 2nd game on the mound for the Beavers, allowed an unearned run in the first. Shell Lake's Jake McQuade and Luke Gronning had base hits in the inning.

The Beavers then pounced for nine runs off Laker starter Mitch Kroetke. C Beau Bergstrom led off with a single and SS Adam Bielmeier drew a walk. After RF Tommy Zappa grounded out to 1B, DH Mitch Blaser doubled to RF, scoring Bergstrom. CF Brady Rose struck out to make two outs, but LF Graham Miller tripled to center driving in Bielmieier and Blaser. After 3B Sam Clark walked, Miller scored on a double steal. Scheps drew the first of his three walks on the night. 1B Mike Forster flew to LF Jesse Gronning who dropped the ball in the heavy wind, allowing two runs to score. Bergstrom walked, Bielmieier got a soft single, and Zappa doubled. Blaser struck out to end the inning.

The Beavers scored twice more in the third on a two RBI single by Blaser. The fourth inning featured a slicing triple by Bergstrom and five bases on balls theat produced four more runs.

Scheps got the five-inning complete game victory, throwing 55 strikes against 33 balls. He walked only one Laker, scattered seven hits, and struck out eight.
