Game Summary: The Beavers got an "ugly" win at Ladysmith in which the combined errors (12) was almost as many as the combined hits (15). The Beavers put up one in the top of the 1st when starting pitcher Tommy Zappa reached on an error by 2B Scott Strop. RF Graham Miller lined a single to RF, followed by a LF Sawyer FollansbeeDelong single, scoring Zappa. 3B Tim Carlson grounded out in front of the plate to end the inning. The Jacks countered with a run of their own in the home half. C Eric Effertz singled to lead the inning off, followed by a sharp single from SS Ryley Closs. The bases got loaded with nobody out when Zappa walked LF Jason Prince. The inning could have got out of hand, but Zappa got fellow pitcher Brent Sisko to hit into a 6-4-3 double play, scoring Effertz. He got 3B Zane Holt to ground out to 1B to end the inning.

The Beavers took a 2-1 lead in the 3rd when Zappa hit a towering homerun to RF with one out.

The Beavers got four in the fifth for 6-1 lead thanks to shoddy Ladysmith defense. Miller drew a one-out walked and FollansbeeDelong reached when Sisko's potential double-play grounder to the mound was thrown wildly into CF. Carlson grounded to 1B, but that was bobbled by Prince, loading the bases with one out. 1B Mitch Blaser walked, scoring the first run of the inning, followed by a CF Brady Rose walk to score yet another run. C Beau Bergstrom lined to CF, scoring Carlson. SS Adam Bielmeier then singled to LF scoring another run. 2B Nolan Scheps grounded to 3B, which was misplayed by Zane Holt, allowing the fifth run to score on the third Ladysmith error of the inning. Zappa grounded out to the pitcher to end the inning.

Things were looking good for Beaver Nation until the error bug struck in the sixth. 2B Mark Schmidt reached on a throwing error by Bielmeier. LF Otis Hamilton grounded to Zappa on the mound, who threw wildly into CF, putting runners on 1st and 3rd. Hamilton, on a steal of 2B, got to 3B on an errant throw by Bergstrom, with Schmidt scoring. Strop followed that up with a double. Zappa was lifted for senior Graham Miller, who fielded a bunt from RF Christian Borman to get the 1st out, with Strop going to 3B. Strop scored when Effertz grounded out to 1B. Closs doubled to CF, but Miller got Prince to strike out swinging to keep the score 6-4.

The Jacks scored twice in the 7th to tie the game and send it into extra innings. Holt drew a one-out walk, and got to 2B on a passed ball. With two outs, Hamilton hit a bloop single, scoring Holt. Strop doubled hard to RF, scoring Hamilton. Miller got Borman to strikeout to send it to the 8th.

In the 8th, Scheps, Zappa, and Miller drew consecutive walks to load the bases with nobody out. After FollansbeeDelong struck out, Carlson grounded out to 2B, knocking in Scheps. Blaser flew out to CF to leave the Beavers with a one-run lead.

It got hairy in the 8th as Effertz and Closs started the inning with consecutive singles. After Prince struck out for the third time on the evening, Strop drew a walk to load the bases with one out. The Jacks attempted a suicide squeeze, but Holt didn't offer at the pitch, hanging Effertz out to dry. He was tagged out by Miller. With runners on second and third, Miller struck out Holt swinging to end the game.
